The shortlist for this years Mercury Music Prize album of the year has just been announced, and it turns out my prediction from yesterday wasn’t too far out – I’m counting 7 out of 12 as a success anyway! Here’s the full shortlist: Arctic Monkeys – AM David Bowie – The Next Day Disclosure – Settle…
It’s Arcade Fire day people! 9/9 at 9pm is the time and date they’ve been promoting as the day they release new single ‘Reflektor’ – the lead single and title track from their very highly-anticipated new album. The single leaked over the weekend, but all the streaming links have now been taken down – so…
Arcade Fire are going to do something on 9 September. We don’t know exactly what yet, but we do know it has something to do with the above ‘Reflektor’ graffiti that was painted around major cities last week. Along with the graffiti, that has also made its way onto various random social media postings, has…

It’s all about the ‘new rules’ for Jay-Z at the minute, who is trying to shake up the industry with new ways to promote and release an album. His new LP Magna Carta Holy Grail was announced last week along with the news that Samsung have already purchased a million copies to give away for…
When I wrote the first Glastonbury Festival forecast last week, the weather experts were all predicting sunshine and showers for next weekend.
