Alternative rock outfit We Are Fiction have announced their split after six years of performing as a band.
The Peterborough based quintet took to social media to announce their split which came despite receiving positive reviews for their debut album One for Sorrow, performing at the Reading & Leeds festivals and being backed by BBC Introducing earlier in 2013.
“As of today we will no longer be writing and performing music as We Are Fiction. As we grow as people, we also grow as musicians and we have come to a point in our lives where we feel we need to follow our hearts both as people, and as musicians; in turn, leading us to this decision to bring We Are Fiction to an end.”
The statement went on to insist that this was not the end of their individual music careers…
“That being said, our passions still thrive and the journey we are on is just beginning. We thank you all for your endless support and the great memories we have created over this very important chapter of our lives. Here’s to the next one.”
The band recently finished a rotating headline tour with Max Raptor and Attention Thieves and their video for single ‘Sail On’, which you can stream below:
