You’ve probably heard the rumours by now about US funk-pop
oddball legend Prince being on the verge of announcing a huge UK tour for 2014.
If not you can read the full story over at The Mirror, the jist of it being they reached out to Prince’s people who confirmed (in capital letters for emphasis) “EVERYTHING U THINK IS TRUE”.
The tour will be Prince’s first set of dates in the UK since his successful O2 Arena residency in 2007 – although he did perform at the Hop Farm Festival in 2011.
What I’m thinking, though, is that if he’s arranging a tour of the UK this year then maybe the rumours linking Prince with a headline slot at Glastonbury 2014 are accurate?
With just Arcade Fire confirmed so far for Glasto, and Fleetwood Mac definitely not playing, it’s seeming likely that Prince might have been who Michael Eavis had in mind when he said the headliners have never played the festival before.
