The Reading and Leeds Festival is not the only summer music event with some news today, as Bestival has announced next years fancy-dress theme will be ‘HMS Bestival’.
2013 will be the Isle of Wight’s other festival’s 10th anniversary and they’re determined to ‘push the boat out’ (see what they did there?) with the nautical theme. Here’s what Bestival founder Rob Da Bank has to say about it all:
All the nice girls love a sailor and all the boys love a mermaid. Think deckhands, anchors, beach parties, Moby Dick, tattooed ladies, Titanic, shipwrecks, Hawaii, Treasure Island, rum bars in scuzzy ports, message in a bottle, the crow’s nest, sea legends, monster breakers and tall tales of life on the ocean waves. Nautical but nice! There’s no better time to join the good ship HMS Bestival and our trusty crew of merrimakers than now with Crimbo approaching, so get your Golden Early Bird Tickets and prepare to set sail me hearties!
The Early Bird tickets he’s on about are available now, and full details on them can be found here.
Bestival 2013 will take place at Robin Hill Country Park over the weekend of the 5-8 September. No word on any acts yet, but watch this space for more info.
