T In The Park have pulled off a huge coup today by securing German electro pioneers Kraftwerk as headliners for this years festival.
Kraftwerk are currently mid-way through their high-profile residency of London’s Tate Modern, where they are performing their full discography over the course of 8 nights (video below). T In The Park organiser Geoff Ellis had this to say about the Kraftwerk announcement:
Kraftwerk are a truly seminal band. Their revolutionary sound altered the face of contemporary music, and paved the way for so many artists across so many musical genres. They are a massively influential group and an incredible live act, and we are hugely excited to welcome Kraftwerk to T in the Park for the first time this July, in what will be a very special moment in our 20th year celebrations.
Kraftwerk will join the likes of The Killers, Mumford & Sons, Rihanna, Two Door Cinema Club, Jake Bugg and Alt J at the Kinross festival over the weekend of 12-14 July – more acts are expected to be announced soon.
