Arcade Fire are (probably) not playing Glastonbury – announce show in Dublin on 29 June

Arcade Fire have today announced a huge gig at Dublin’s Marlay Park for 29 June.

The date happens to fall on the Sunday of next years Glastonbury, which has inevitably led to speculation that Arcade Fire won’t be playing at Worthy Farm in 2014.

I suppose there’s wriggle room for them to headline the Friday night of Glastonbury, but the Dublin date and Glastonbury within two days would probably be too much of a stretch for them – but who know’s!? Win Butler teased fans last month by telling them to ‘get their wellies ready’, so at this stage all guesses are valid.

As well as the show in Dublin, Arcade Fire are also playing two dates at London’s Earl’s Court on 6 and 7 June – so it’s shaping up to be a busy summer for the Canadian band. Here’s the link for tickets.
