Nottingham singer-songwriter Jake Bugg has announced the follow-up to his 2012 debut album will be called Shangri La and will be released on 18 November.
The album is named after Rick Rubin’s studio in Malibu where it was recorded, and is preceded by the rocking new single ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’ – the video for which is below:
The single and album announcement came on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show last night, with Bugg explaining how quick the second album came about:
It came quick but, for me, music’s what I do to get away from stuff… Even though its been crazy, when I have time to myself, it’s me picking up my guitar… I travelled lots and had some crazy experiences, so I had a lot to write about!
Shangri La is available to preorder now from Bugg’s official store and comes with a free download of new track ‘Strange Creatures’. Everyone who preorders the album will also receive first refusal on tickets to see Jake Bugg on his as-yet-unannounced 2014 tour.
