Britpop legends Blur have announced on Twitter that they will be releasing two brand new singles on Monday 2nd July. the band revealed ‘Under The Westway’ and ‘The Puritan’ will be released at 6.15pm and 7.15pm respectively – probably as digital downloads:

Along with the announcement, Blur revealed two images for each of the songs, including the above one for ‘Under The Westway’. As a taster, here’s a few live, rough and ready versions of both tracks:

Blur have announced more details of the release today. The two new songs will be broadcast live on Twitter on Monday 2 July – along with an interview with the band. After the live transmission, both songs will be available to download. Talking about the performance, front-man Damon Albarn said:
“I wrote these songs for Hyde Park and I’m really excited about getting out there and playing them for people.”
