‘Instant Crush’, the Julian Casablancas-featuring track from Daft Punk’s all-conquering Random Access Memories, is being released as a single soon, so naturally it’s been given a cool, idiosyncratic video befitting one of the biggest albums of 2013.
The video was directed by Warren Fu and was inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s ‘The Steadfast Tin Soldier’, so features a waxwork version of Casablancas getting frisky with a farm girl in a museum. The Stroke’s front-man also gets to do a bit of rock star posing in between as well.
Trivia: The guy who made the Casablancas waxwork was Tony Gardner, the lead make-up artist on Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ video.
