Yeah Yeah Yeahs have today revealed all about their upcoming fourth album – the follow up to 2009’s It’s Blitz.
The new album is called Mosquito and will be released in the UK on 15 April. And yes, the above is the cover art (designed by Beomsik Shimbe Shim). Yeah Yeah Yeahs have released the below teaser trailer for Mosquito:
The album was mostly produced by long-time Yeah Yeah Yeahs collaborator Dave Sitek, although LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy took control of the mixing desk for one song.
Speaking to NME about the album, singer Karen O said:
The sound of the record is, I guess, a bit more lo-fi sounding and slightly more influenced by roots reggae. There’s a lot of delay on stuff and there’s a more raw sound to it than there was last time. There’s probably more bass on this record than all the other records combined. But there’s also plenty of guitar. It’s a bit more tripped out than our other records.
