Spiritualized – ‘Hey Jane’
[rating:5/5]
The one thing I always think when listening to Spiritualized is – why does no-one else make music like this!? It’s a damn shame that front-man Jason Pierce has his much publicised health problems, as the world needs a regular dose of his soulful and charismatic gospel infused rock now more than ever. Arcade Fire just don’t come close to it in comparison.
‘Hey Jane’ is the first track to be released from Spiritualized’s forthcoming album Sweet Heart, Sweet Light (check the album artwork above, weird huh!?) – which is now set for release on April 16 after Pierce missed the initial deadline for a March release.
Starting off with a rumbling Dylan-esque four-minute opening salvo, ‘Hey Jane’ gets even better as Spiritualized do what they do best and stretch it out into a gloriously overblown nine minutes.
Check out ‘Hey Jane’ here and let us know what you think of it in the comments below…
