I don’t usually review covers but this is the one that pushed me into it. Seriously. Rebecca Ferguson has probably given us the best cover of the year by covering the 2013 hit single “Bones”. And to surprise us all, she has done it so well that it seems the song belongs to her. I’m sure Ginny Blackmore (the original singer) will be happy to see how Rebecca Ferguson has made her song her own.
Rebecca, who made a name for herself at The X Factor UK, is getting ready to release her fourth studio album. This album will be titled “Superwoman” and it will hit the stores in the UK on 14 October. This new cover song “Bones” will be used as the lead single from this upcoming album. A perfect choice, I’d say.
It seems that Rebecca’s raw emotional approach seemed a perfect dose for this song. It was probably meant to be delivered like that from the beginning.
