BRIT Awards organisers have today revealed the first clutch of information regarding next years glitzy ceremony, which is to be held at London’s O2 Arena on 19 February.
Sheffield band Arctic Monkeys and US superstar Katy Perry are the first acts to be confirmed as performers at the ceremony – which will be hosted by James Corden for the fifth and final time.
Speaking of her inclusion on the bill, Perry said:
The Brits has always showcased the music that I love and am influenced by. It’s an honour to play at such a prestigious event where musicality shines at its brightest.
Perry won the Best Internation Female award in 2009, but has some way still to go to match Arctic Monkeys’ current haul of five awards – which includes Best British Breakthrough in 2006 and the double double of Best British Album and Best British Group in 2007 and 2008.
Nominations for the 2014 BRIT Awards will be announced in January, and will be televised live on ITV.
