Glastonbury 2014 weather forecast – expect rain, hope for sun

The above weather symbol is annoyingly plastered all over the weather forecasts for this weekends Glastonbury Festival. What does it mean? Will it be sunny, rainy or cloudy? Or all three at once?

It basically means anything is possible weather-wise and the word for the weekend is: changeable.

Most forecasts are pretty certain that it won’t rain tomorrow, so if you’re heading to Worthy Farm to set up camp early you can expect some nice dry ground to pitch your tent on. It gets less predictable after that, with some ‘experts’ saying there will be quite a bit of rain on Thursday, and others saying it’s likely to just stay overcast on Thursday.

For the start of the festival proper on Friday it’s going to rain, probably quite heavily, and Saturday and Sunday will also feature a bit of rain. So it’s going to get muddy!

Don’t despair too much though, that sunshine isn’t in the above symbol for no good reason. In amongst the rain showers there is expected to be some sunny spells and it should be quite warm throughout the weekend – so, every cloud and all that!

To be honest, you always have to expect rain when you go to a UK music festival so the forecast shouldn’t dampen spirits too much – just get your wellies on, wear sensible clothes and enjoy the festival. After all, Glastonbury has the best line-up of all the music festivals this year!
