Meghan Trainor has released the official music video for single “Better”. The video tells us the story of a grandfather and a granddaughter who face the bitterness of life together. You can watch the MV after the review.
If someone labels this as a ‘harsh’ MV, I won’t be objecting to it. I don’t know what Meghan wants to convey with this video. Maybe she wants to highlight the side-effects of excessive drinking. But then she could have chosen another plot for that. Anyhow, this is what we get from her for now.
The music video is directed by Mattia. The granddad in the video is a miserable old man who has problems with alcohol addiction. He finds it difficult to stay away from it. When he is at home and is sober, everything is fine but when he goes to bar and drinks, he becomes terrible. It feels as if he invites trouble every time he drinks. The last scenes of the video where granddad is being taken away by the police while Meghan (granddaughter) is watching will bring tears to your eyes.
It’s definitely not an autobiographical video. I’m sure Meghan never had to face this kind of situation in real life. But she might be thinking this will help her fans avoid this kind of situations in real life. After all, they are going to watch the video for sure. Time to watch the music video below.
