Vampire Weekend thought up a novel way of announcing the title of their new album over the weekend, by posting an advert in the New York Times.
Fans had previously been teased by the band cryptically posting the acronym ‘MVOTC’ on their website, which has led to a lot of speculation and rumour, but now the band have confirmed everything, including the above artwork. Here’s the newspaper ad they used:
The ad also revealed the US release date of the album as 7 May, the UK release date is the 6 May. As well as the title, release date, artwork and full tracklist (below), Vampire Weekend also confirmed a raft of US and European tour dates. UK fans will get a chance to see them on 8 May at The Troxy in London.
