Radiohead have released a weird app called ‘PolyFauna’ – download it here

Apparently we’re still a long way away from a new Radiohead album, but the band have been busy in other areas – including making an app called PolyFauna, which is available to download here: iOS and Android

The app is a bit of a strange beast, and doesn’t seem to do a lot – you just fly around different cool-looking landscapes and draw shapes on the screen as you go along. Here’s how Thom Yorke explained it on the Radiohead site:

PolyFauna is an experimental collaboration between us (Radiohead) & Universal Everything, born out of The King of Limbs sessions and using the imagery and the sounds from the song Bloom.

It comes from an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious.

Your screen is the window into an evolving world.
Move around to look around.
You can follow the red dot.
You can wear headphones.

Here’s some screenshots if you’re still not sure what it actually is:

Radiohead, and Thom Yorke in particular, have a bit of previous with hiding interesting treats/Easter eggs within projects like this – so I’m hoping someone unearths some new material or something by playing around with PolyFauna for a few hours.
