New Stone Roses songs rumoured…

The writer of a new film based on The Stone Roses has revealed the newly reformed Madchester legends ‘have at least three or four tracks recorded’.

Speaking to the BBC, Chris Coghill (who also starred in the film 24 Hour Party People) said The Stone Roses (who you can see performing ‘I Am The Resurrection’ above) have given their blessing to his film, and he has been in close contact with the band during the film:

“I’m mates with Mani and I know Ian a bit, and when we first started talking about it, I emailed them both an outline of what we wanted to do and they said, ‘You have our support, you have our blessing, whatever you need.'”

The film, called Spike Island, is based on the trials and tribulations of a group of teenagers trying to get into The Stone Roses’ legendary 1990 show at Spike Island and stars Shameless actor Elliott Tittensor and Game Of Thrones star Emelia Clarke.

Are you excited about the prospect of new songs from The Stone Roses, or would you rather they stuck to the classics? Let me know in the comments below….
