It would be a bit of an exaggeration to suggest Klaxons have been sorely missed since their second album Surfing The Void came out a full four years ago. Their re-imagining of 90’s rave-pop culture was starting to wear a bit thin by 2010, but it’s still good news to have them back on the scene.
They have announced today that they will have a new album out in ‘late spring’, and have released brand new single ‘There Is No Other Time’ to ‘pave the way for the albums release’.
The single boasts production from current pop favourites Gorgon City, so it won’t surprise you to find out that it’s a bit ‘mainstream’.
Listen to ‘There Is No Other Time’:
There’s no album title yet, but we do know that as well as Gorgon City the album features production help from James Murphy, Tom Rowlands (he of Chemical Brothers fame) and Erol Alkan – so it should at least be interesting.
Here’s the press shot that accompanied today’s announcement, good to see the boys haven’t lost that 90’s spirit!
