The Stone Roses to headline Isle Of Wight Festival 2013

The Stone Roses’ successful reunion shows no signs of dying down, as the Madchester legends have today been confirmed as the first headliners of next years Isle Of Wight Festival.

The festival will run across the weekend of the 13 – 16 June 2013  – with the Roses set to headline Friday 14th June. The headline slot is expected to be the Roses’ only UK festival appearance, as they have already arranged their own set of summer gigs in London’s Finsbury Park and Glasgow.

Speaking about booking The Stone Roses, festival promoter John Giddings said:

When you talk about the soundtrack of our lives, the Stone Roses are embedded in it. I am so proud to get them to our island- they will kick the weekend off with a bang.

No other acts have yet been confirmed for the festival, but as the tickets go on sale this Wednesday (28 November) at 9am, we can expect a lot more line-up announcements pretty soon.
