The Stone Roses confirm festival dates

The Stone Roses have today confirmed the first festival headlining slots of their comeback tour. The recently reformed Madchester legends have announced they will be headlining 2012’s Benicassim Festival, which runs from 12th – 15th July in Spain, as well as the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan (27th, 28th and 29th July) and Scotland’s T In The Park.  The dates will be the first Stone Roses festival appearances since their infamously bad show at Reading in 1996.

The festival dates are the first of many Stone Roses gigs expected to be announced soon to coincide with their reunion shows in Heaton Park, Manchester at the end of June 2012. Tickets for the Manchester comeback shows were officially the fastest selling tickets in history, with almost a quarter of a million sold in just over an hour.
