The Strokes’ bassist Nikolai Fraiture has revealed the New York five-some are set to return to the studio in April to begin work on the follow-up to their latest album, Angles – which was only released last week.
Speaking to XFM, Fraiture said: “We were just talking about when we would get back together and start writing for the next album, it should be soon. April, mid-April.”
During the interview, which can be heard in full here, Fraiture also alluded to the negative reactions to the bands latest album, stating: “I love that it takes a few listens. After a five-year break, we didn’t want to do something that’s like, ‘Oh, I get it’ after one listen!'”
This new-found work ethic marks a new creative approach for the band, who famously spent five fractious and difficult years recording Angles.
