James Blake’s second album featured on my list of most anticipated 2013 albums last month, and today he’s announced more details about it.
His second album will be called Overgrown, and is set for release on 6 April. The announcement said Overgrown is “an incredible album that sees James growing as a singer and songwriter while at the same time returning to the brain melting electronic perfection of his early releases on Hemlock and Hessle, moving way beyond any post-dubstep pigeonholes to include stunning reinterpretations of both hip-hop and house.” Which all sounds very interesting!
The first taster of Overgrown will be debuted tonight on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show, and is called ‘Retrograde’ – so keep your eyes and ears open for that….
