Haim - BBC Sound of 2013

Haim announced as BBC Sound of 2013 winners…

They may look a bit like 1990’s Mmmboppers Hanson and sound like a watered down version of Fleetwood Mac, but according to the trend-setting wisdom of that bastion of coolness and finger-on-the-pulse relevance – the BBC – Haim are the most promising new music act of 2013.

The LA sisters were today announced as the winners of the BBC Sound of 2013 poll, beating off competition from the likes of AlunaGeorge, Angel Haze and Chvrches. Naturally the sibling trio are pretty made up with the whole thing, and released the following excitable statement:

We are so unbelievably honoured to win the BBC Sound of 2013 list. We have found our second home in the UK! We can’t wait to release new music and play as many shows as possible this year. Thank you to everyone who voted for us. We are so excited!

If you’re not very trendy and haven’t yet jumped on the Haim bandwagon, here’s there single ‘Don’t Save Me’ to get you started:
