Single Review: “This Christmas” By John Lindahl and Boyz II Men

Many people remember John Lindahl from the first season of The X Factor. He was there on the show competing with others through his band named “inTENsity”. Three years after the competition, John has finally secured a deal with a record label. He has also succeeded on another front and that’s securing a collaboration with Boyz II Men, an R&B legend. Both have collaborated to bring us the lovely and much awaited Christmas song ‘This Christmas”. The track is available as a free download and you can grab it instantly here.

The track “This Christmas” was originally recorded by Donny Hathaway during 1970s. It was a hit as it came out and that caused many other artists to follow the same path and sing a version of their own “This Christmas” song including the famous Christina Aguilera version. In the past artists such as Pentatonix, J. Blige and Aretha Franklin have also tried out their version of this track. Nevertheless, John Lindahl has stamped his own unique style on the track, making it a surefire hit this Christmas.

John has really smooth vocals. We all noticed that when he was singing on the platform of The X Factor. But since the show ended, he was sort of gone-for-good, spending three years growing up as an artist. We can clearly see his talents and quality of voice in his latest collaboration, which is a festive soulful Christmas track without a doubt.
