New Single: “Torches” by Daughtry

Chris Daughtry led rock-band Daughtry, who put our TV screens on fire 10 years ago when the band appeared on the fifth season of American Idol, has released a new single titled ‘Torches’. This new single is from band’s greatest hits album “It’s Not Over… The Hits So Far”, which was released on the same day. As a gift from the band, you can download “Torches” free if you pre-order the album. Pre-orders started from yesterday.

The album contain 13 greatest hits of the band, originally released through four different studio albums. All those albums were Top 10 so fans can expect some really great songs. As a surprise, the album will have two new songs – something that could work as an incentive for fans to buy the album. “Torches” is one of these new singles.

The song started when band leader Chris Daughtry wrote some lyrics over a piano progression that he has been working on for some time. As the lyrics came along, he was sure about the direction this song was going. While talking about the song, Chris told the media that he was concerned about all the hate and violence that had started the riots and had brought chaos into the world. This was his motivation to write the song, to say something positive and help people think about love in this chaotic situation again. The song is beautiful and you can stream it below.
