Jack White has been talking about his next solo record…

Jack White has revealed he currently has ’20-25 tracks’ for his next solo album.

The former White Stripes front-man was collared by Rolling Stone at last nights Grammy Awards ceremony, who asked him how he’s getting on with recording the follow-up to his debut solo album Blunderbuss:

“I’ve got about 20 to 25 tracks I’m working on right now – a lot of songs. It’s a good time for writing for me.”

Like with the recording sessions, and live shows, for Blunderbuss, White is currently working with two different bands – the all-male Buzzards and the all-female Peacocks. Talking about this unique approach, he said:

Everybody involved was inspired. Nobody had really done that before, and it was scary in a way. I wanted to keep that going on this one. I just want to write and bring the Buzzards and Peacocks in and work on some things and work on the things with no intention of what it’s going to be. No competition between the bands – just keep writing and recording until I decide what it’s going to be.

For some reason Blunderbuss didn’t win a Grammy last night, and all the videos of his performance on YouTube are a bit rubbish, so here’s the Hype Williams directed video of ‘Freedom At 21’ for your audio and visual pleasure:
