Following hot on the heels of Odd Future’s Tyler, The Creator’s announcement yesterday regarding the rap groups forthcoming album, it was the turn of cult Odd Future rapper Earl Sweatshirt today to send Twitter into a frenzy.
Earl Sweatshirt famously disappeared last year and was rumoured to be in a Samoan rehab centre, and he was conspicuous by his absence in yesterdays Odd Future announcement – which made today’s release of his new solo single ‘Home’ all the more surprising.
Showing off the rap collective’s grasp of social media, Earl set up a new Twitter account and posted a short teaser (below) of the song, promising to release the full version when he got to 50,000 followers:
nigga need followers. give me 50,000 and i’ll release this shit for everybody.

Unsurprisingly, it didn’t take him too long to amass 50,000 followers and released the track on a new site: http://terttlefer.com/
