New Music: 2forJoy – ‘Michaela’

Just in time to put herself into contention for everyone’s ‘Sounds of 2013’ lists, hotly tipped London singer 2forJoy (Ruth Ivo to her friends) has released her first single ‘Michaela’ – along with a suitably atmospheric video, directed by Annick Wolfers.

Check out ‘Michaela’ below and let me know what you think in the comments at the bottom:

It’s not hard to see why 2forJoy has been receiving a lot of hype at the minute, ‘Michaela’ is a beautifully restrained and delicate slice of pop – and sounds like a more spaced out and dreamy Bat For Lashes. ‘Michaela’ is available to download for free, in exchange for a Tweet.

2forJoy first got everyone’s attention last year with her demo ‘Choke’ (which you can hear below), so it’s been a long wait for her first proper release. One can only assume she has spent the past year working on a debut album, so watch this space for more news!
