Tom Meighan complains Kasabian ‘don’t get the credit they deserve’…

Kasabian front-man Tom Meighan has complained that his band don’t get the credit they deserve. Speaking to the Daily Star at last weekends MTV EMA’s, the singer said:

“Sometimes we don’t get the credit we deserve. Some of the songs on the new record are beautifully crafted pop songs – ‘Man Of Simple Pleasures’ is heartbreaking. Some Kasabian fans say we have gone a bit tame but we can’t do ‘Club Foot’ forever.”

Kasabian released their fourth studio album, Velociraptor!, in September – which went straight to number one in the UK album chart. Tom also said Kasabian are now much more focussed on producing quality albums, rather than obsessing other radio-friendly singles:

“We are an albums band now. We are believers in albums, it means we don’t get the big hit singles any more.”

What do you think of Tom’s statement? Do Kasabian deserve a bit more credit for the music they make – or do you think they’re overrated already!? Let us know in the comments below…
