OutKast on verge of reuniting – lined up for Coachella and Glastonbury 2014?

Seminal hip-hop OutKast are rumoured to be on the verge of reuniting and have been touted as possible headliners for next year’s Coachella festival and, naturally, Glastonbury 2014 as well.

The rumours were started by Billboard, who say multiple sources have confirmed that Andre 3000 and Big Boi are ‘in talks to reunite next year for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’.

It’s all rumour and speculation at the minute, but the fact there have been no denials from OutKast’s camp or Coachella’s suggest the rumour may have legs. Next year is also the 20th anniversary of OutKast’s debut album – so a reunion would make sense.

With Glastonbury yet to announce any headliners for next years festival, OutKast are predictably already being thrown into the rumour pot for Worthy Farm – but we probably won’t know for sure on that one for a while yet.

Since their last album together – 2003’s double album Speakerboxx/The Love Below – OutKast has been on permanent hiatus (not including their brief collaboration on the Idlewild soundtrack), with Big Boi releasing two well received solo albums and Andre working on different film and music projects.
