Little Boots

Listen: Little Boots releases new single ‘Superstitious Heart’

It’s been a long time coming but it seems we may finally have a new Little Boots album soon.

Since her breakout year in 2009, which saw the release of debut album Hands, we’ve been teased with a second album – only for Victoria Hesketh to go quiet again. Way back in November 2011 we got new single ‘Shake’, which promised to herald a new album but never did. A few months later we got a new mixtape and then another new single, ‘Headphones’, but again things went a bit quiet.

Now Little Boots has returned, and as usual she’s done it in unpredictable style. Earlier this week Piccadilly Records were listing a new vinyl release from an artist called ‘LB’ – of whom they knew nothing – with two tracks: ‘Superstitious Heart’ and ‘Whatever Sets You Free’, featuring the above abstract artwork. All they knew was that the track was pretty good: “Superstitious Heart features sweet female vocals (I’m presuming by LB) over a rolling electronic house rhythm which has a real 80s electro-pop feel to it as well”.

After giving it a few days, Little Boots finally put everyone out of their misery and revealed on her Facebook page that she was in fact ‘LB’, and posted ‘Superstitious Heart’ – which you can listen to right here:

No word on whether we’ll get an online release of ‘Whatever Sets You Free’, or indeed whether this release actually means a new album might be on the cards – although the rumour is a second album is due out in March, so watch this space…
