Isle Of Wight Festival 2013 announces new acts including Bloc Party, Jake Bugg and The Maccabees

A host of new acts have been announced today for next years Isle Of Wight Festival. Following last weeks confirmation that The Stone Roses will be headlining, festival organisers have announced Bloc Party, Jake Bugg, The Maccabees and Paloma Faith will be joining them in June 2013.

Festival organiser John Giddings said of the latest acts to join the line-up:

We are proud to present some of the best new music around, together with artists who helped scope the face of modern music- it’s a stunning combination so far.

Jake Bugg will be playing the main stage on Friday 14 June before The Stone Roses’ headline set. Bloc Party and The Maccabees, both with stellar album releases this year, will be playing on Saturday 15 June, while Paloma Faith has been confirmed for a slot on Sunday 16 June. Speaking about what will be her second appearance at the Isle Of Wight Festival, Paloma Faith said:

So excited to return to one of my favourite music festivals this year and hope the sun shines as beautifully as it did when I last played.

Amongst the other acts confirmed today are The Script, Ellie Goulding, Happy Mondays, The Farm, Republica (!?) and Blondie.
